Empower hope futures
change lives today
Good Friends Foundation is a nonprofit organization that tackles child labour, early marriage, and poverty in vulnerable Kenyan communities by fostering education and building livelihoods that sustain it — ensuring children remain in school and families are strengthened with independence.
Education support
Opening doors to dignity, hope, and opportunity
We make education possible for children who would otherwise be forced out of school by hardship and exploitation.
Across Kenya, too many children are denied the chance to learn because of poverty, early marriage, or child labour. They lose their classrooms, and with them, their dreams. Not because they lack potential, but because life pushes them away from opportunity.
Our education program enrolls children who are left out and supports those already in school but lacking essentials like uniforms, books, and materials, ensuring they can learn and stay in class.
Livelihood programs
Empowering parents to sustain education
A child cannot stay in school if their family is too burdened by poverty. Parents often face painful choices: send a child to class, or send them to work.
Our livelihood programs give families the skills and opportunities to earn with dignity. Through vocational training, agribusiness, and small business support, we strengthen households so they can sustain their children’s education and build independence.
Our approach
Tackling Root Causes, Creating Lasting Change
At Good Friends Foundation, we know education cannot thrive if families are trapped in poverty, and livelihoods cannot succeed if children are denied the chance to learn. That’s why our approach combines both — keeping children in school while empowering families with income and stability to sustain them.
By linking education with livelihoods, we break cycles of early marriage, child labour, and poverty, creating a path to dignity and lasting change.
Essential Supports
Strong Foundations for Change
True progress requires more than classrooms and skills. That’s why we strengthen our core programs with essential supports that remove hidden barriers to learning and growth.
Through access to healthcare and clean water, we reduce illness and daily struggles that often force children out of school. These supports protect education, reinforce livelihoods, and allow families to focus on building brighter futures.
